Many War of 1812 soldiers received land warrants in payment for their service. Because of that, many of these brave men are buried in Illinois. If your ancestor is one of the thousands buried in Illinois, you are eligible to join the Society of the War of 1812 or the United States Daughters of 1812. We would love to have you as a member.
